Management acknowledges your achievements and perseverance at this critical time. Congratulations to you all for your co-operation and enthusiasm. Well done all of you and additional thanks to a dedicated Tasman team that have supported us all with untiring energy and professionalism. Between us, we are making significant progress. Your efforts have been much appreciated, and as all has gone well, we shall move to Alert Level 2 after 11th May announcement.
Dear Students,
We are now in the final stages of the Alert level 3 of the Covit 19 pandemic. And as I said above, congratulations to you all for your ongoing motivation and co-operation in the change of learning from the formal classroom teaching and learning to our current online delivery.
The success achieved by you and the teaching staff to gain the skills needed and to be able to apply those to completing your assessments – and on time is fantastic, and we all should be proud of our achievements to date. ZOOM it seems has been the right tool of choice for us all and has enabled a smooth outcome at all levels. Thank you again for your co-operation and the success that you all have achieved during this time.
I have completed a review of attendances of all classes, and sadly there are always one or two that spoil it for au all. I will be in touch with those students over the next few days. However, on the bright side in many cases, there has been a remarkable turnaround for the better with many low attendance students now with their percentages looking much better. On the other hand, of course, the admin and teachers at Tasman I expect this trend to continue once we all come back to the campus.
The government has now considered it is safe to move New Zealand to Alert Level 2 effective from 11.59 pm On Monday 11th May 2020 to take effect 48 hours later. If this happens from Thursday 14th May, then all of us in New Zealand will move down to Alert Level 2.
This means that effective from the week commencing Monday the 18th May many of the classes will re-open at the campus. In other words, from online learning to face to face teaching once more in your classrooms.
The report below is for your information from NZQA and the NZ Government.
Dear Students,
Stay home until advised otherwise. (Your teacher will confirm your movements from the 18th May 2020).
Under all COVID-19 Alert Levels, it is critical that organizations take steps to enable the contact tracing of people who have had possible exposure to the virus.
TEOs are required to maintain an up-to-date record of all people (staff, learners, contractors, etc.) who visit or attend their campuses and facilities.
The record is to include staff and students attending sites for tuition where permitted under the relevant Alert Level 3 rules.
The organization must keep detailed records, in a form readily accessed, of the following information on every individual who attends or visits the site:
Names, contact details, specific classrooms visited, date and time of attendance/visit.
The level of detail in these records must be sufficient to enable tracing of individuals in the event of possible exposure to the virus.
Where the NZCEL students can access their courses online, they will continue to do so up until the 21st May 2020 or on instructions from your teacher. All the ICT level 5 & 7 students are expected back on campus as per your timetable from the 18th May 2020.
On arriving at the campus
All students to sign in on appropriate sheet, (i.e. the attendance Roll) wipe down their work place before commencing and again once their task is completed.
Students must leave the campus immediately they have signed out on the sheet provided. (Usually the attendance roll).
Tasman has a responsibility to and must keep detailed records, in a form readily accessed, of the following information on every individual who attends or visits the site:
A space of approximately 1 metre per student is the normal procedure and will apply. From Alert Level 2. However, in the common areas such as the reception, a 2-metre space between persons will apply.
All students to, wipe down their workplace before commencing and again once the task is completed before leaving the classroom.
Students must leave the campus immediately once the class finishes and they have signed out on the sheet provided.
Tasman will provide cleaning materials and hand wash but students must provide their own mask should they choose to use one. Masks will not be compulsory from Alert 2 just optional.
