COVID-19 Update

Tasman has been planning to use an online delivery if needed to protect everyone’s health against the Covid-19 Virus – that time has now come.

Please see the details described below:

Switch to online classroom delivery effective from 12 Noon 24 March 2020 for 4 weeks (scheduled). Normal classes to resume 27 April 2020 OR Until further notice if lockdown period is extended.

Dear Students,

On Monday 23 March the NZ Government announced that New Zealand would move to Level 3 and to Level 4 in 48 hours (Midnight 25 March 2020) in response to contain the spread of Covid-19.

All Tasman staff have been preparing for online delivery should this situation occur.

Over the last 2 days, trained staff have introduced you to “Zoom” the online delivery app for your online lessons.

Classes will run at normal times with any variations negotiated with your teachers.

Please Log in 15 minutes before your session is due to start using the ZOOM app you have set up on your phone or computer. You must attend your classes at those scheduled times and your attendance will be taken as normal. No excuses for lateness. The attendance will be taken at the time the class commences. If you are not online at the class start time you are absent. If you are sick you must contact the school in the same way by email or phone. Doctor’s certificates or Covid-19 testing results must be provided.

All assessments due must be submitted on time. If you are late to submit without prior approval, your action will result in a fail. In that case, you will need to re-enrol and pay a fee to do the assessment again on completion of your current studies.

Your teacher will outline the program for the week and explain any assessments to be prepared and the date due.

It is very important that you manage your study. You will need to do more work by yourself. You should use this time to improve your self-study skills.

If you have any questions please email your teacher in advance, so we can assist you through our channels of communication, such as email or landline/mobile call.

Jaimin (jaimin@tasman.ac.nz) and Mia (mia@tasman.ac.nz) can be contacted for any emergency or unusual circumstance. Please feel free to email them.
