Configuration and Deployment of Cloud ICT Infrastructure

What is this subject about?

This course aims to configure and deploy and ICT cloud infrastructure. Key focus areas include cloud computing concepts, storage technologies in a distributed environment, design strategies, virtualisation techniques and monitoring critical components in a cloud environment.

You will be able to demonstrate conceptual knowledge of Cloud Computing, key infrastructure requirements and operational environment.

We will teach you how to:

a) Demonstrate an understanding of a cloud environment using public and private computing models.
b) Critically analyse the requirements and operational needs of a cloud environment using Microsoft System Centre Critically analyse the requirements and operational needs of a cloud environment.
c) Evaluate various methods to perform health checks and monitor the configuration of a cloud environment to achieve compliance. Evaluate multiple ways to perform health checks and monitor the configuration of a cloud environment to achieve compliance.
d) Implement and manage security controls in a cloud-based infrastructure environment.

You will be able to demonstrate the creation and configuration of business unit clouds using System Center Virtual Machine Manager.

We will teach you how to:

a) Demonstrate an understanding of System Center Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).
b) Explain the fundamental concepts of managing a virtual cloud environment with VMM.
c) Analyse the critical consideration while creating cloud environments for single or multiple business units.

You will be able to deploy cloud services while using service templates, VMM profiles and linkage to the SQL Server.

We will teach you how to:

a) Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Service Templates advancement.
b) Evaluate the VMM Machine Profiles, SQL Server Profiles, Application Profiles and its configuration method.
c) Develop a keen practical awareness Web Deploy Packages, Server App-V and Data-Tier Application Packages.

You will be able to analyse System Center Operations (SCOM) deployment technique for monitoring needs of cloud infrastructure.

We will teach you how to:

a) Demonstrate an understanding of SCOM deployment alongside the required agent.
b) Analyse the configuration and deployment of monitoring and control Analyse the configuration and deployment of monitoring and control.
c) Compare and contrast Network Infrastructure monitoring methods for distributed applications in a cloud infrastructure

You will be able to exhibit a clear understanding of Application Performance Monitoring in a cloud environment.

a) Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Application Performance Monitoring and associated techniques.
b) Develop an application performance monitor while using SCOM.

You will be able to evaluate the configuration of service manager and user roles, the ways to create custom rules and integrate orchestrator and examine the approaches to develop hybrid cloud and to control excess demand with cloud in public environment.

We will teach you how to:

a) Demonstrate Service Manager Configurations and management, user roles and its configuring security, work items, Incident queues, Service offering.
b) Critically illustrate the Overview of Problem Management and System Center Orchestrator, the ways to create Custom Rules and integrate Orchestrator with Operations Manager.
c) Creatively apply knowledge from different approaches to integrate private cloud with a public cloud to create a hybrid cloud and also interconnect public, private and community clouds.
d) Assess and examine the way to control excess demand with cloud bursting and managing the risks of public clouds, simulating a private cloud in a public environment.
e) Clear Understanding of the Reliably connecting concept of cloud across the public internet.
